Sunday Breakfast and Memorial Ride Update….

Hi Everybody,

We have not had many replies to the Sunday Breakfast request, but it is still on. If you just forgot, don’t worry, we will have room for you. We have the room reserved from 7:30 until we are finished – usually around 9:30 or 10:00. Ricky’s Country Restaurant, 2350 Boundary Road ( near Lougheed ), Burnaby.

The plan is to have a nice breakfast and get to know each other for those that are new or just haven’t been out for a while. Giselle and I will conduct a short discussion while we are eating to bring everybody up to date with what is happening within the GWRRA, District, and Chapter.

After breakfast, we will all ride out to Holeshot Motorsports where members from other chapters and those that weren’t prepared to meet indoors for breakfast just yet will be waiting. We will get everybody registered, take your hard earned money, and start the ride after you draw your first two cards.

Patrick Frampton has put together a nice route to follow with lots of backroads all over the Fraser Valley. We will eventually end up at Birchwood Dairy where the final cards will be drawn and winners announced. There are two contests – a poker run where the winning hand gets 50% of the total pot, and a mileage guess where the person who guesses closest to the target mileage, determined by Patrick, gets 50% of that pot. Poker hands will be $5.00 each and mileage guesses will be $2.00 each. All proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Fund in honour of those members who are no longer with us.

We have many new members in our group and will be breaking down into smaller riding groups for the run so that they can be introduced into the way our chapter does group rides, so that nobody will feel left out. We encourage all members to bring their significant other for the ride. This is one of our chapter’s premier events that we did not have a chance to do properly last year – it rained on us and COVID was on the rise…. The year before we had a fantastic end of ride BBQ at the Chilliwack Flight Club that everybody enjoyed. Hopefully in the very near future, we will all be able to meet and greet comfortably with no worries. See you all on Sunday!
